Chair Yoga & Slimming Support  

Join our friendly, supportive group every Wednesday for our chair yoga class led by a professional instructor. If you’d like to keep an eye on your weight, you’re welcome to take part in an optional weigh-in. Doors open at 9:45am for the class to start at 10-11am at St Paul's Community centre just £5 per session. 

Come along to stretch, strengthen, and socialise in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere!

Fun Days

​

Looking for a safe, warm, friendly place to go with your baby or toddler? This could be the place for you and your child to make friends and happy memories. Our sessions are now at the slightly earlier times of 9am-11.15am, Tuesdays, at St Paul's Community centre, with plenty of space for toddlers. Just £1 per person (adult or child), no need to book.

Green & Arts Wellbeing Workshop

Wednesday afternoons at St Paul's Community Centre, this is a wonderful opportunity to try all sorts of different creative activities with a warm and friendly group of people from all kinds of different backgrounds! Get in touch with CAHN for dates and times on 07789 975 205.

Hafway


Our motto is 'belong, believe, become'. More than 100 young people engage with HAFWAY each month and with the majority of the young people coming from deprived backgrounds, ethnic minority groups and broken homes we really are making a difference in their lives.

> Youth group & sports sessions


Providing a safe space and activities for young people 11-18yrs, and now in our very own renovated building!

All sessions are free, at St Paul's Parish Centre (Hafway Hub) and open for young people to pop in, no need to book.

Mondays Beyond (School years 5-7only), 3.30-5pm

Thursdays Girls only 5-6.30pm, College group (School years 12+ only) 7-9pm

Fridays - Open to all, 3.30pm through to 9pm

Sundays - Open to all, 6.30-9pm

In addition, we run a sports session at Brownlow Fold Sports Centre 6.30-8.30pm (School years 5 upwards)

Halliwell Befriending Service
Halliwell Befriending Service aims to provide a visiting, befriending and support service to housebound, isolated, disabled, lonely and mentally frail older people living in the Halliwell area. The offices are based in the community centre. For more information, please ring 01204 840808, or drop into the centre in a morning!

Run by Halliwell Befriending Service, Light lunch is served while you can play dominoes, scrabble, do a few chair exercises, whatever you fancy joining in with.  Fortnightly on a Monday 12noon-2pm, running the alternate week to Lunch Club

Share a 2-course lunch with friends, raffle and a game of bingo. Meets weekly on Mondays, 11.30am-1.30pm in the Community Centre. Contact HBS to enquire about spaces.

Craft Club SM new.png

> Crafters friendship club 
Tuesdays 1-3pm in the Community Centre. Sewing, knitting, cardmaking, lace making, adult colouring books and more! A safe and warm place to learn new crafts skills and enjoy expressing your creativity. From September 2025 times change to 12:30pm till 2:30pm.

Run by Halliwell Befriending Service, this is an opportunity to have a bit of breakfast and learn digital skills in a warm and friendly environment.

Line Dancing

A warm and friendly group of dancers, open to newcomers too at St Paul's Community Centre on a Friday morning doors open at 9:45 for the class to start 10am-11am. Just £3 per class, and you can pay as you go.
 

Saturday Cafe.png

Saturday Cafe

St Paul's Church

St Paul’s Church seeks to serve in the Halliwell Community witnessing to the love of God shown to all in Jesus Christ. Worship is low evangelical with a more contemporary feel at the all age service on the first Sunday of the month. We are a small friendly congregation.

We have a lovely group that meets for a gentle walk around the Smithills and Halliwell area. Not done much walking? Or not used to walking far or fast - this is the group for you!
